Manama:Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, highlighted the enhanced preparedness and ability of the transportation and telecommunications sectors to provide services efficiently under various circumstances. This progress is attributed to the support from Bahrain's comprehensive development initiative led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister noted that proactive planning and operational readiness during recent Iranian attacks ensured the continuity of services. A total of 662 flights operated via King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, transporting approximately 75,139 passengers successfully.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabia for its facilities, which played a significant role in maintaining passenger movement. Telecommunications and internet services remained fully stable, with a 100% availability rate. Cargo operations were uninterrupted, ensuring the smooth movement of goods, continuity of supply chains, and supporting overall economic activity.
The minister emphasized the importance of ongoing development efforts, including improving performance efficiency and enhancing operational flexibility, to adapt to changing conditions. These initiatives aim to sustain transportation and telecommunications services, ensuring the seamless movement of passengers and goods, supporting supply chains and economic activity, and solidifying Bahrain's status as a key regional transportation and communications hub.
