Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that occurred over the past 24 hours. According to Bahrain News Agency, significant updates include several royal decrees issued by HM King. Decree (41) of 2026 appoints a member to the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, while Decree (42) and Decree (43) of 2026 appoint members to the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain, respectively. Additionally, Decree (44) of 2026 designates the competent authority pursuant to Decree-Law (35) of 2025 on approving the Unified System for International Land Transport between GCC member states.
In related news, HM King received the UK Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic and defense relations between Bahrain and the UK. HH Nasser bin Hamad also met with the UK Deputy Chief of Defence Staff and emphasized trust in youth as a fundamental element in building the future. On International Youth Day, HH Khalid bin Hamad acknowledged Bahraini youth as essential partners in national achievements.
Further, Bahrain expressed condolences to Colombia following a recent earthquake. In legal matters, the Public Prosecution announced life imprisonment for two individuals convicted of spying for Iran. There are also sentences of up to 10 years for three defendants involved in supporting Iranian terrorist activities and 15 years for three defendants in two separate terrorism cases.
Finally, Bahrain is preparing to host the Fintech Forward 2026 event in October, showcasing its commitment to advancing financial technology in the region.
