Bahrain’s Parliamentary Division Engages in APA Executive Council Meeting

Manama: Bahrain's parliamentary division, led by MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the Council of Representatives and Vice President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), participated in the 16th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). The Kingdom is hosting the session from January 24 to 28 under the theme "The Role of Asian Parliaments in Promoting Dialogue among Civilisations and Cultures in Asia: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Pathways."

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting addressed several agenda items, including the election of office members, the 2025 activity report of the APA, the appointment of vice-presidents for 2026, the request of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council to obtain observer status in the Assembly, the review and approval of final reports from the standing committees, and the adoption of the draft agenda for the 16th general session of the Assembly.

Bahrain's participation reflects the Kingdom's continued support for the work of the APA and its commitment to contributing to institutional development, enhancing transparency and financial discipline, supporting the Assembly's objectives, strengthening its parliamentary role in Asia, and advancing the aspirations of the continent's peoples for a prosperous future.

The Kingdom hosts such events to strengthen its presence in regional and international parliamentary forums and to support sustainable development and Asian parliamentary cooperation.
