Abu dhabi: A delegation from the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the opening session of the Women Parliamentarians Forum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM). This second edition of the forum, organized by the Federal National Council (FNC), is being held under the theme "Empowering Women for Cohesive and Inclusive Societies: From the Gulf to the Mediterranean." The event is taking place in Abu Dhabi from January 26-28 and is under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak. She serves as the Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and the Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation of the UAE.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the opening session included an address by Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council. Other speakers included Giulio Centemero, President of PAM, along with heads of parliaments from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the House of Councillors of Morocco, the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS Parliament).
