Bahrain’s Leadership Condemns Iranian Drone Attack Amidst Domestic Support

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on local events that happened over the past 24 hours. A significant portion of the coverage was dedicated to the Iranian drone attack targeting Bahrain, which drew widespread condemnation from both local and international leaders.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong statement condemning the Iranian drone attack on Bahrain. This sentiment was echoed by the Speaker, the Shura Chairman, and other government officials, who all denounced the aggression. The attack has also drawn criticism from regional allies, with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, and Syria all issuing statements condemning Iran's actions.

Amidst these tensions, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa commended the Bahraini government's efforts in ensuring the success of Ashoora, a significant religious observance. The event's peaceful execution was noted by the Islamic Endowments Council Vice Chairman and the Jaafari Affairs Director General, who highlighted how it reflects Bahrain's values of coexistence and tolerance. HM King also received cables affirming loyalty and support from Bahraini families, showcasing domestic unity during this period.

In a related development, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed pride in HM the King's acknowledgement of the government's efforts during Ashoora. This recognition underscores the leadership's commitment to maintaining peace and stability within the country.

The incident has heightened calls for adherence to the UN Charter and multilateral cooperation, underscored by Saudi Arabia's stance on the importance of these principles. Meanwhile, in Lebanon, the President described a framework agreement as a first step toward restoring his country's sovereignty, reflecting the broader regional focus on sovereignty and peaceful coexistence.
