Bahrain’s Indoor Opening for 3rd Asian Youth Games Under Royal Patronage

Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Asian Youth Games will be held on October 22nd. The 3rd Asian Youth Games are currently being hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the opening ceremony will mark a significant milestone in the history of Asian multi-sport events, being the first of its kind to be held indoors. This innovative approach departs from the traditional outdoor stadium settings and represents a forward-looking strategy in the presentation of sporting ceremonies across Asia.

The event is set to take place at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir, commencing at 7:00 pm, and will be attended by high-level officials, a broad public audience, representatives from 45 Asian National Olympic Committees, as well as prominent figures from the international and regional sports community and participating delegations.

The ceremony will feature an artistic programme that combines contemporary performance with elements of Bahrain's cultural heritage. Through a series of creative segments, the event will portray the Kingdom's story, from its ancient origins to its current development, in a manner that balances tradition with modern expression. This performance will also emphasize unity and cooperation, aligning with the values promoted by sports and cultural exchange across Asia.

The sequence of events will begin with the arrival of the ceremony's patron and the entry of the military police, followed by the playing of Bahrain's national anthem to officially start the proceedings. A countdown to the opening of the Games will then take place, leading into artistic performances and the Parade of Nations.

Concluding the ceremony will be official speeches, culminating in the raising of the Games flag and the lighting of the Asian flame, which will remain lit throughout the competition. This flame symbolizes the passion, ambition, and spirit of challenge that unite the continent's youth on Bahraini soil.
