New York:Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States, took part in a high-level meeting called "Seizing the AI Opportunity" in New York. This event occurred alongside the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting convened officials and private-sector representatives to discuss strategic partnerships and the expansion of artificial intelligence applications.
In his address, the Ambassador emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration among AI partners, referencing the "AI Opportunity Partnership Joint Statement" launched in June 2026 at the second Pax Silica Summit in Washington. He pointed out Bahrain's dedication to enhancing its AI capabilities through a national framework that promotes the responsible use of emerging technologies, aligning with regional regulatory frameworks like the Gulf Cooperation Council's Guiding Framework on AI Ethics.
Additionally, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa expressed support for international initiatives such as the "American AI Exports Program" and highlighted investment opportunities in AI technologies and infrastructure. These initiatives, he noted, provide access to government funding, technical assistance, and private-sector investment, which can bolster local technological infrastructure and facilitate the sustainable adoption of AI technologies.
