Bahrain’s Ahmed Sharif Starts Asian Youth Teqball with Three Victories

Manama: Bahraini player Ahmed Sharif achieved three consecutive victories against only one loss on the opening day of the individual Teqball tournament as part of the 3rd Asian Youth Games. The tournament takes place in the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Sharif established complete control in his first match with a straight-sets victory over Mongolia's Gantsorig Chinngun (12-5, 12-4), signalling his powerful presence in the competition.

He continued in the second match, displaying a high technical level and determination to overcome Indonesia's Dazu Em in two clean sets (12-10, 12-7) following an encounter that impressed spectators and followers.

In the third match, Sharif maintained his run, defeating the Philippines' Baracali Engleo in straight sets (12-8, 12-8), confirming his readiness and competitive spirit.

Despite losing his final match of the day against Kuwait's Nasser Al Sagheer in straight sets, the Bahraini player delivered a consistent performance throughout the first day. His showing reflected the technical development and advanced competitive level reached by the national team's players.

Ahmed Sharif will continue his campaign with confidence and ambition in the upcoming rounds, aiming to secure more victories and raise the flag of the Kingdom in this continental championship, which sees participation from Asia's top talents.
