Shura Council member and Chairman of the parliamentary delegation to the 17th session of the Conference of Union of Councils of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad, has affirmed that the deep-rooted Bahraini-UAE relations are based on solid fraternal foundations, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Highness President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the UAE.

Dr. Al-Haddad was speaking during the joint meeting held between the Bahraini and UAE delegations to the session, hosted by Algeria on January 26-30.

He commended the efforts being made by the UAE Federal National Council to strengthen joint GCC and Arab parliamentary work, by participating effectively in all meetings and submitting constructive proposals to enhance legislative action at the GCC and Arab levels.

The two delegations affirmed the need for strengthening GCC parliamentary work at various regional and international gatherings to achieve the interests of GCC peoples.
