Manama: Representatives of the executive and legislative authorities expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for His Majesty's directive to reach an agreement between the two authorities. This step reinforces the principle of cooperation between authorities as stipulated in the National Action Charter and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and underscores the collective commitment to implementing His Majesty's visions, which place the Bahraini citizen at the center of comprehensive development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the statement also emphasized the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, regarding the continued development of government services provided to Bahraini citizens. This is in line with the Government Plan and the understandings reached between the executive and legislative authorities, all of which underscore the importance of financial sustainability in serving citizens.
Both sides clarified that all initiatives agreed upon during the joint meetings of the executive and legislative authorities were based on mutual agreement, and that these initiatives and mechanisms are intended to finance support for the low-income and the middle classes.
With regard to the mechanism for supporting electricity and water services for citizens' first houses, the executive authority confirmed that it had addressed all inquiries submitted by the legislative authority. However, differences of opinion remained over certain details related to implementation mechanisms, which fall within the jurisdiction of the executive authority.
The two authorities reiterated their firm stance on all issues concerning citizens and their continued cooperation in enacting the necessary legislation to enhance the Kingdom of Bahrain's financial position while safeguarding citizens' entitlements.
They also agreed to maintain ongoing cooperation between the authorities in pursuit of the Kingdom's higher national interests, in implementation of His Majesty the King's directive to align efforts in mobilizing all resources for the benefit of the nation and its citizens.
The statement further noted the importance of the continued legislative and oversight role of the legislative authority in safeguarding public funds and enhancing spending efficiency, in accordance with the applicable constitutional and legal frameworks.
