Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, Deputy Chairperson of the National Committee to Combat AIDS, Dr. Meriam Al Hajeri, affirmed the distinguished efforts made by Bahrain to boost awareness of ways to combat AIDS. She noted that forming the National Committee to Combat AIDS, under the chairmanship of the Health Minister, reflects the kingdom’s commitment to the UN agreement in this regard and keenness on enhancing prevention through various plans and strategies.
This came during a press conference organised by the committee today to review the main chapters of the first Bahrain International Medical Conference for AIDS which is set to be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain on September 22 and 23, 2022, under the patronage of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The event will bring together a host of international experts in the field of combating AIDS. A large number of doctors and specialists from Bahrain and the whole world will also participate in the event which confirms the pioneering steps being taken by the kingdom in upgrading the health sector.
