The division also highlighted the broad support for the proposal and reiterated its commitment to democratic practices and advancing Bahrain's regional and international interests.
Submitted under Rule 11 of the IPU General Assembly's rules, the proposal addresses recent international concerns requiring urgent action. It underscores risks to global maritime trade routes, particularly in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea, due to threats to navigation safety and trade continuity.
The proposal mentions potential disruptions to goods flow, energy supplies, and maritime services, impacting global economic stability and supply chains. It references UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and Human Rights Council Resolution 1/61, urging respect for international law to safeguard navigation freedom and global trade stability.
