Bahrain Participates in Asian Parliamentary Assembly Meeting on Political Affairs

Mashhad: The Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation took part in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Standing Committee on Political Affairs meeting in Mashhad, Islamic Republic of Iran, from December 3 to 6. MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Vice President of the APA, chaired the meeting, with the participation of MP Jamila Mohammed Al Salman and MP Abdulhakim Mohammed Al Shino.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting addressed several agenda items, including the adoption of the agenda, selection of bureau members, and approval of the opening statement. Discussions focused on enhancing Asian parliamentary cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international political issues to bolster joint parliamentary efforts and promote security, stability, and development across Asia.

The meeting also reviewed the report of the APA Secretary General and discussed proposals related to the rule of law, women's empowerment, building trust and cooperation for prosperity in Asia, supporting democratic principles, and enhancing Asian partnerships to promote multilateralism. All draft resolutions on the committee's agenda were adopted in preparation for Bahrain's presidency of the Assembly in 2026.
