Bahrain Hosts 17th GCC Tax Authorities Committee Meeting

Manama: As part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Bahrain hosted the 17th meeting of the GCC Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Authorities. The meeting was chaired by Rana Ibrahim Faqeehi, Chief Executive of the National Bureau for Revenue (NBR), with participation from the heads and directors of tax authorities from GCC member states and representatives from the GCC General Secretariat.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination among GCC tax authorities, exchange expertise, and develop systems and mechanisms to support Gulf economic integration. The agenda discussed the enhancement of current systems, the development of an advanced digital system, and the creation of unified legislation and mechanisms.

The meeting also reviewed key related developments and shared best practices and expertise to support the GCC countries' shared objectives. The conclusion of the meeting emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts and building on achieved results to advance cooperation and economic integration among the GCC countries.
