Bahrain Handball Federation and GSA Focus on Advancing Gold Generation League

Manama:The General Sports Authority (GSA) and the Bahrain Handball Federation recently held discussions to further develop the Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation League initiative. This effort aims to enhance youth sports programs and support talent development in line with directives from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the GSA; Ali Isa Ishaqi, President of the Bahrain Handball Federation; and Majdi Mirza, Secretary General of the federation, along with other officials. They reviewed the initiative's progress over the past four seasons, examining a technical report that highlighted key indicators, results, and outcomes.

The discussions focused on improving the technical aspects of competitions, strengthening talent identification, and monitoring player development. The meeting also emphasized the importance of creating pathways for promising athletes to advance to national youth teams.

Further, the role of clubs in enhancing Bahrain's handball talent base was addressed, with an emphasis on continued efforts to develop players across youth age groups. Participants stressed the need for close coordination between the GSA, the federation, and clubs to ensure sustained talent development.

Dr. Askar highlighted the importance of evaluating past achievements to identify technical needs for future phases. He reaffirmed the GSA's commitment to collaborating with the federation and clubs to advance Bahrain's handball system and support the Gold Generation initiative.

The meeting concluded by underscoring the necessity of translating the report's findings into practical programs and measures. These efforts aim to improve competitions, support youth development at clubs, and establish sustainable pathways for promising players' progression.
