Manama, The Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al Hurr) has extended sincere congratulations to the Bahraini women marking the Bahraini Women’s Day, which is celebrated on December 1 every year.
In a statement, Al-Hurr said that Bahraini women have attained unprecedented achievements and reached leadership positions in many institutions, adding that the Bahraini Women’s Day 2018 coincides with the second round of this year’s parliamentary and municipal elections in which women outperformed men in many constituencies.
Al-Hurr stressed that the Bahraini women’s achievements were the fruitful outcome of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project, and the constant support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, which, the statement said, played a major role in empowering women and their success in receiving their rights, as well as in taking part effectively in building and developing the nation.
The statement pointed out that the Arab Working Woman Forum, held by Al-Hurr last week with the participation of women from 40 countries, had lauded Bahraini women’s advancement in various fields.
Al-Hurr asserted that devoting this year’s Bahraini Women’s Day to women in the legislative field and municipal work affirms Bahraini women’s strides in these two vital fields.
Al-Hurr called for the need to remove all obstacles and challenges facing women’s progress.
