Manama: The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) announced that its air defence systems have intercepted a series of hostile attacks launched by Iran on the evening of Saturday, 28 February 2026. The BDF confirmed that the situation remains fully secure and assured citizens and residents that the attacks resulted in no casualties or loss of life.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the General Command stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s airspace will remain closed temporarily as a precautionary measure in response to these unprovoked acts, which violate international law. Bahrain reserves its right to take necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and national security in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.
Specialist field units are actively securing affected sites to ensure the safety of citizens and residents. The General Command emphasized the vigilance and operational readiness of BDF personnel in countering any threats to the Kingdom’s security and stability.
