Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in Najran, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, using indiscriminate projectiles that injured several civilians. The Kingdom described the attack as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter.
According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its full support for all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and civilian infrastructure. The ministry also wished those injured a speedy recovery and called for decisive international action to hold the Houthi militia accountable and cut off its sources of funding and arms.
The ministry emphasised the Kingdom of Bahrain's support for Saudi Arabia's diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis. It stressed that any solution must be based on the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, foremost Resolution 2216, in order to preserve Yemen's unity, sovereignty and regional stability.
