Bahrain Chairs GCC Youth and Sports Planning Committee Meeting

Manama: As part of Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Faisal Al Khayyat, Director of Policies and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Youth Affairs, chaired the seventh remote meeting of the Planning, Coordination and Follow-up Committee of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee discussed several agenda items, including the future work plan of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports for 2025 - 2030, approved Gulf activities and programmes, Gulf Sports for All Day on December 12, Gulf Youth Day on June 6, and recommendations of the technical committees for 2027.

The meeting also reviewed topics related to developing the youth sector, including investment in the sector through private-sector partnerships, empowering creative, innovative and outstanding youth across the GCC in 2026, the Youth Creativity Award in the World of Data, and international cooperation in joint youth affairs.

The committee concluded the meeting with several recommendations on the topics discussed, ahead of submitting them to the GCC Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports for consideration and necessary decisions.
