Bahrain Celebrates Handball Gold at Asian Games

Manama:His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, has extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following the national handball team's victory at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan. The Bahraini team secured the gold medal after defeating Qatar in the final match.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali highlighted that this achievement underscores the leadership's ongoing support for the youth and sports sectors. He emphasized the kingdom's commitment to providing its athletes with the necessary resources to compete in international events.

Furthermore, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali extended his congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, as well as His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He acknowledged their roles in turning the leadership's vision into tangible sporting successes.

His Highness also praised the national handball team's consistent performance throughout the tournament and acknowledged the contributions of the players, the Bahrain Handball Federation, and the technical and administrative teams in preparing the team for success.

In addition to the handball victory, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali recognized the impressive performance of Bahraini athletes across various sports at the Asian Games.
