Bahrain Advocates Dialogue and Diplomacy at International Meeting

Arusha:MP Zainab Abdulameer Khalil participated in the Standing Committee on United Nations Affairs during Bahrain's involvement in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tanzania.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Khalil emphasized Bahrain's commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law as crucial elements for fostering global security and stability. Under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain prioritizes peaceful dispute resolution to mitigate the humanitarian, political, and economic impacts of conflicts.

The MP underlined that Bahrain's national policy is centered on promoting peace, coexistence, and collaboration with the international community to confront global challenges. Additionally, she noted Bahrain’s proactive involvement in multilateral initiatives and its upcoming role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term.

Khalil highlighted the significance of endorsing dialogue and mediation, supporting the UN Charter and international law, and enhancing cooperation between the United Nations and regional bodies to secure sustainable political resolutions to conflicts.
