Bahrain 2025 World Boccia Challenger Series Concludes Successfully

Manama: The Bahrain 2025 World Boccia Challenger Series, held in Isa bin Rashid Sports Hall from April 19 to 23, 2025, has successfully concluded. The tournament witnessed extensive participation, with over 64 players from 14 countries. This underscores Bahrain's distinguished reputation as a leading host of major regional and international sporting events. According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony witnessed several countries claiming top positions in the men's and women's competitions. In the BC1 category, Kazakhstan's team secured first place in the men's competitions, while Malaysia claimed the top spot in the women's competitions. Thailand showcased its dominance in the BC2 category by securing first place in both the men's and women's competitions. In the BC3 category, South Korea's team secured first place in the men's competition, while Saudi Arabia claimed first place in the women's competition. In the BC4 category, South Korea claimed first place in the men's competition, while Malaysia secured the top spot in the women's competition. In the BC4 doubles competition, the Malaysian team claimed first place, while the Swedish team secured the top spot in the BC3 category. Thailand emerged victorious in the BC1/2 team competitions, taking first place. Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, highlighted the success of the tournament, reflecting Bahrain's steadfast commitment to supporting determined athletes and developing an environment that enhances their skills and abilities. Mahmoud Mohammed, Executive Director of the tournament, delivered a speech highlighting the key milestones and achievements throughout the tournament. A short documentary film was presented, showcasing the high standards throughout the tournament. The organising committee then honoured the supporting entities that contributed to the tournament's success. A commemorative shield was also presented to the International Boccia Federation in gratitude for their cooperation and support. By hosting this championship, Bahrain underscores its commitment to promoting Paralympic sports and supporting determined athletes, while also enhancing public awareness and recognition of their capabilities at both national and international levels.
