Manama: Members of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) commended the Kingdom's organisational success in hosting the 3rd Asian Youth Games. They affirmed this achievement reflects Bahrain's comprehensive and advanced administrative and technical capabilities, which enable it to host and manage major international sporting events to the highest global standards.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the members said that this success is not a one-time accomplishment but rather a continuation of Bahrain's steady progress in the sports sector, reinforcing the Kingdom's reputation as a leading regional sports destination. They added that the event represents an investment in the nation's human athletics capital and underscores Bahrain's readiness to organise major tournaments on a wider international scale.
Sara Al Binkhalil, Member of the Referees Committee and former track and field athlete, said that the committee prioritised precision and punctuality through daily meetings to review competition schedules and ensure adherence to top technical and organisational standards. She highlighted the committee's focus on referee preparedness and clear role distribution, which contributed to the smooth and accurate management of the competitions.
Al Binkhalil commended the high spirit among participants, noting that athletics, often referred to as "mother of all sports," embodies both diversity and challenge. She added that the excellent organisation provided an ideal environment for athletes and referees alike and showcased the professionalism and teamwork of the Bahraini organising committee.
On her part, Ruqayya Al Ghasra, former Olympic sprinter and BAA member, described Bahrain's hosting of the 3rd Asian Youth Games as a significant event that demonstrates the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening its presence in Asian sports. She said that participating in the organisation of the 3rd Youth Asian Games was a source of pride for all Bahraini athletes.
Ahmed Mohammed, Bahrain Track and Field Team Administrator, noted that despite the limited preparation time, the tournament was well-organised thanks to the collective efforts of all committees, which helped present the competitions in the best possible manner and highlighted Bahrain's national organisational capabilities.
Meanwhile, Bashayer Salman from the BAA said that taking part in organising the 3rd Asian Youth Games was a great honour for all national staff, emphasising that the spirit of teamwork was the main factor behind the event's success. She added that the swift and efficient organisation, within a record time, reflected the resilience and dedication of Bahrainis in overcoming challenges.
Fatima Al Madoub, in charge of team arrangements and athlete entry procedures, said that the 3rd Asian Youth Games' remarkable organisation resulted from effective coordination among various committees and entities, making the experience both enjoyable and successful by all measures.
