Attorney General Engages with Moroccan Delegation to Discuss Alternative Sanctions

Manama: Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain welcomed a delegation from the Presidency of the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Morocco, who visited the Kingdom of Bahrain to explore the implementation and outcomes of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law. The visit also aimed to understand the role of the Public Prosecution and other relevant authorities in the enforcement of this law's provisions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Attorney General highlighted the longstanding collaboration between the prosecution authorities of Bahrain and Morocco, emphasizing the importance of exchanging expertise and effective legal practices to enhance prosecutorial capabilities and overall performance.

A briefing is scheduled to be held by the Public Prosecution for the Moroccan delegation, focusing on the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law. This session will outline the law's objectives, justifications, and regulatory framework, as well as the roles played by the Public Prosecution, law enforcement bodies, executive authorities, and civil society organizations in its implementation.

The Moroccan delegation will also learn about the results achieved through the law, particularly its effectiveness in achieving the intended purposes of custodial penalties and its positive impact on the humanitarian and social aspects for beneficiaries.
