Istanbul: The Arab Parliamentary Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has endorsed Mariam Saleh Al Dhaen, a Member of the Council of Representatives, as its representative in the IPU Standing Committee on United Nations Affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the decision to endorse Al Dhaen was made during a coordination meeting on the sidelines of the 152nd IPU General Assembly held in Istanbul. Al Dhaen expressed her gratitude for the confidence placed in her by Arab parliamentary leaders and acknowledged the support of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division.
Al Dhaen affirmed her commitment to actively support international initiatives aimed at promoting security, stability, and peace.
