Manama: The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has issued a call to action for citizens and residents, urging them to ensure that all mobile phone SIM cards registered under their names are exclusively used by them and not shared with others. This initiative aims to protect their personal data and digital identities, as well as to prevent any practices that may lead to legal liability.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Directorate emphasized the importance of keeping personal identification documents secure, regularly reviewing the number of SIM cards registered to individuals, and deactivating those that are no longer in use. They also advised the public to promptly inform their telecommunications provider if a SIM card is lost, enabling swift deactivation, and to refrain from sharing one-time passwords or SIM card information with others.
The Directorate further encouraged citizens and residents to remain vigilant, adopt preventive measures to safeguard their data and digital identities, and report any suspicious activities or incidents through official channels.
