Ambassador to UAE Meets UNCTAD Secretary-General to Discuss Economic Partnerships

Abu dhabi: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), recently welcomed Dr. Rebecca Greenspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to discuss potential economic collaborations. The meeting also included Francisco Chacon, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to the United Arab Emirates, and Marcelo Ricci, a member of the Office of the Secretary-General of UNCTAD.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah praised Dr. Greenspan for her efforts since taking on her role in 2021. He expressed his appreciation for her work and looked forward to enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and UNCTAD. The ambassador acknowledged the significant role UNCTAD plays in fostering global economic growth and emphasized Bahrain's desire to strengthen trade and economic partnerships to achieve a more balanced global economy.

The discussions at the meeting centered around strategies to expand trade, investment, and sustainable development within the Kingdom. Participants underscored the importance of ongoing coordination and the exchange of experiences to support sustainable development and establish effective global partnerships.
