Manama: Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, the Ambassador to Malaysia, delivered a lecture at the National Resilience College of the Malaysian National Defence Studies Centre in Putrajaya, focusing on "The Evolving Security Landscape in the Middle East: Bahrain's Vision for Regional Stability, Diplomacy, and Collective Security." The event saw participation from senior military, security, government, parliamentary, and academic officials.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Manea emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between Bahrain and Malaysia, a bond strengthened by the leadership of both nations. He noted their mutual dedication to enhancing cooperation across multiple domains. The ambassador discussed Bahrain's strategy for promoting regional security through diplomacy, collective action, and the safeguarding of sovereignty and civilians.
In his lecture, Ambassador Al Manea addressed the recent Iranian attacks on GCC member states, elaborating on their effects on critical infrastructure and maritime security, as well as their wider implications for regional and global stability. He highlighted the Royal Order that established the National Resilience Documentation Committee and mentioned that Bahrain has submitted 13 national letters and nine joint letters with GCC member states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations.
Furthermore, the ambassador pointed out Bahrain's proactive initiatives during its presidency of the UN Security Council in April, aimed at strengthening the protection of maritime routes and ensuring freedom of navigation. He also praised Malaysia's support for UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
