Rome: Osama Abdullah Al Absi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Italian Republic, participated in the first dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), alongside the ambassadors of the GCC member states. Ambassador Al Absi emphasized the importance of reinforcing cooperation and partnership to enhance food systems resilience and promote sustainable agricultural development, contributing to global food security and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the dialogue also explored ways to deepen cooperation between IFAD and the GCC in the areas of food security and sustainable rural development. The discussions reviewed future partnership opportunities in line with shared development priorities, particularly in the context of IFAD's Fourteenth Replenishment of Resources.
