Madrid: Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Spain, residing in London, hosted a reception and lunch in Madrid to commemorate Bahrain's National Day and the Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne. The event underscored the deep-rooted relationship between Bahrain and Spain, as well as Bahrain's commitment to strengthening both bilateral and multilateral relations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed extended his congratulations to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighting the significance of this national occasion. He emphasized the enduring ties between the two kingdoms and Bahrain's efforts to enhance cooperation, especially in light of its role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2026-2027 and its hosting of the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Furthermore, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed pointed out the increasing political and economic collaboration between Bahrain and Spain. He expressed aspirations to further expand partnerships in political, security, trade, scientific, and tourism sectors, aiming to benefit the citizens of both nations.
A representative from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also praised the robust relations between Bahrain and Spain, with a focus on developing this partnership further. The representative acknowledged Bahrain's important diplomatic role on both regional and international stages.
