Accra:The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced investments totaling USD 3.89 billion through four major projects that have been granted Golden Licenses. This move reinforces Bahrain's position as a prominent global destination for high-value investment. The projects, spanning sectors such as aviation logistics, real estate, and technology, are anticipated to contribute significantly to economic diversification and long-term growth in the region.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement was made during the fourth edition of Gateway Gulf 2026, held over two days at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. The event was organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board and attracted over 200 ministers, senior government officials, chief executives, and investors worldwide to explore investment opportunities and partnerships across the Gulf.
The four projects awarded Golden Licenses include DHL's plan to establish its first regional maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Bahrain International Airport, Capital A's three aviation projects to enhance air connectivity and cargo capacity, Meliá's waterfront real estate development in Amwaj Islands, and Digital City Bahrain's initiative to create a next-generation hub for ICT, innovation, and education. These projects aim to expand Bahrain's operational capacities, tourism offerings, and digital ecosystem.
The Team Bahrain approach, a model of public-private partnership, is central to the Kingdom's investment strategy. It brings together government entities and the business sector to foster an environment conducive to thriving investment and business. The Bahrain Economic Development Board plays a key role in this ecosystem, connecting investors with governmental support to turn opportunities into sustainable economic growth.
