NIAD Launches Sixth Phase of Forever Green Campaign During Tree Week

Manama:The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) has launched the sixth phase of its national afforestation campaign, Forever Green, at Family Park. This initiative coincides with Tree Week and aims to support Bahrain's National Action Plan to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by expanding green spaces.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the initiative, participated in the event by planting 50 Acacia glauca trees along with community members. The campaign is designed to promote environmental awareness and foster partnerships between government entities, the private sector, civil society organizations, and individuals to achieve sustainable afforestation goals.

The sixth phase of the campaign builds on previous projects executed in collaboration with public and private sector institutions. Further initiatives are planned to support agricultural development and environmental sustainability. The launch of this phase during Tree Week, an event initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aims to bolster national efforts towards the objectives of the afforestation plan and enhance community engagement in environmental initiatives.
