Manama:Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Head of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee in the Shura Council, has praised Bahrain for its successful hosting of numerous Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial, preparatory, and technical meetings in September and October 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Rumaihi emphasized that the significant turnout for the GCC meetings in Bahrain highlights the Kingdom's security, stability, and readiness to host regional events despite ongoing security challenges and threats in the region.
Dr. Al Rumaihi noted that the meetings were in line with the vision and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who advocates for GCC meetings to be conducted in person rather than exclusively online. He believes that face-to-face meetings are crucial for strengthening consultation and coordination, aligning positions, and deepening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation among GCC member states.
Furthermore, he added that Bahrain's ability to successfully host these meetings underscores the capabilities of its national institutions and their organizational and security readiness. This success is supported by the care of His Majesty the King and the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr. Al Rumaihi affirmed Bahrain's commitment to continue serving as a beacon of security and stability, a gathering place for its Gulf partners, and a key contributor to joint GCC action.
