Manama:Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, visited the Electricity and Water Authority's (EWA) awareness stand at City Centre Bahrain to assess the support measures in place for citizens registering for the Fixed Monthly Billing Service. This initiative is aimed at helping eligible citizens complete their registration before the October 31 deadline.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister stressed the importance of simplifying registration procedures, maintaining direct communication with the public, and ensuring that information on billing calculations and applicable credits is clearly conveyed. This effort is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister praised the work of the awareness teams and underscored the need to intensify outreach efforts during the remaining registration period to ensure that more citizens can take advantage of the service. Under this initiative, Bahraini citizens can register for their first residence with retroactive benefits starting from May 2026. The fixed monthly bill will be calculated based on the average of electricity and water bills from June 2025 to May 2026, with any differences for bills between May and September 2026 credited to the beneficiaries' EWA accounts.
Registration for the service is open until October 31, 2026, via the website www.ewa.bh, where citizens can also compute their fixed monthly bill. Additional assistance is available through EWA's call centre at 17515555.
