Istanbul:Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Dr Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, to discuss progress in negotiations on the GCC-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the next steps towards its signing and entry into force. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th Istanbul Mediation Conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the two sides reviewed progress in the ongoing negotiations and the remaining requirements for finalizing the agreement.
They emphasized the importance of strengthening efforts to overcome outstanding obstacles, noting that the agreement would contribute to expanding trade, encouraging mutual investment, and strengthening economic connectivity between GCC and Turkish markets.
