Accra:Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, has issued Edict (53) of 2026, which extends the terms of municipal councils due to current circumstances and their effects.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the edict mandates that the terms of the current municipal councils will continue until the end of the extended term of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
The edict requires all relevant parties to implement its provisions, with the directive taking effect the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
