Social Insurance Organisation Enhances Virtual Appointment Service for Widows

Accra:The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) has improved its virtual appointment service for widows, allowing beneficiaries to remotely access insurance services, follow up on applications, and make inquiries without visiting service centers.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service simplifies the booking process to two steps and enhances the user experience by supporting systems that maintain consistent information across all channels. SIO CEO Sahar Rashid Al Mannai stated that the service enables beneficiaries to consult female customer service staff via video call for guidance and information. Appointments can be booked through the Skiplino app, providing convenient access to services while respecting beneficiaries' privacy and adhering to Islamic principles.

The SIO's adoption of digital solutions is tailored to beneficiaries' needs and circumstances, aiming to make insurance services more accessible and follow-up inquiries easier. The service also allows women to receive assistance from female staff, further enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and service quality.

These upgrades are part of broader government efforts to modernize public services and simplify procedures. Over 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 undergoing development and re-engineering across government entities. Improvements have been informed by feedback from the Tawasul National Suggestions and Complaints System, investors' observations, and mystery shopper assessments. The government has also introduced service guides and service-level agreements to streamline procedures, elevate service standards, and advance digital transformation.
