Justice Ministry Enhances Digital Service for Minors’ Settlements

Accra:The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has implemented a digital upgrade to the minor settlement data update service, aiming to enhance service quality and streamline procedures.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service is now fully digital and proactive, allowing minors nearing adulthood or their guardians to update personal and contact details, bank information, and property or vehicle ownership records efficiently. The upgrade has reduced service completion time from six to three working days, halved the number of required documents, and decreased the service-level agreement by at least 25%, ensuring 100% digital processing.

The improvements include a better user interface, simplified procedures, and a reduction of required approvals by 25%. Application forms have been converted to electronic formats, and service information has been standardized across all channels. Noor Ibrahim Al Hajri, the Head of the Minor Affairs and Funds Service Centre, emphasized that these changes are designed to simplify procedures and improve efficiency, making it easier for beneficiaries to conduct transactions.

The service is now accessible through Bahrain's National Portal, bahrain.bh, eliminating the need for physical visits. Notifications are sent to relevant parties before minors reach adulthood, allowing for timely updates and preparation for settlement procedures.

This initiative is part of broader government efforts to enhance public services, with over 1,300 government services documented and 800 re-engineered. Feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul) and other sources has been instrumental in this process, contributing to improved service guides and agreements to boost efficiency and support digital transformation.
