Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Discuss Regional Security Concerns

Manama:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a phone call with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani conveyed Bahrain's condolences regarding the victims of the terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and wished the injured a swift recovery. He condemned the attack and affirmed Bahrain's solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting its measures to protect sovereignty and maintain security and stability.

During their conversation, the ministers addressed regional developments, particularly the Houthi militia's attacks on Saudi Arabia, which include targeting civilian facilities and airports. These actions violate international law and threaten regional stability and international civil aviation.

The ministers also discussed enhancing Gulf cooperation at the UN Security Council. This effort is particularly significant given Bahrain's non-permanent membership, as they aim to garner international support for a decisive response to Houthi attacks and to safeguard regional security and stability.
