Manama:Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, has inaugurated the Fourth Bahrain Psychiatry Conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is organized by Government Hospitals in cooperation with Education Plus and is hosted at the Gulf Hotel on October 8-9. Attendees include Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Government Hospitals, along with medical and nursing professionals, specialists, officials, and representatives from the Ministry of Interior.
The opening ceremony featured a video presentation detailing the conference's objectives and key themes. Additionally, the Ministry of Interior's Alternative Sentencing Directorate presented a video showcasing its initiatives and programs aimed at supporting beneficiaries and promoting societal reintegration. A presentation from the directorate highlighted its key initiatives and experiences, followed by a discussion involving an individual in recovery, emphasizing the significance of psychological, social, and professional support.
Under the theme "Recovery: Hope, Resilience and Renewal," the conference covers a wide spectrum of scientific and professional topics related to mental health. It includes discussions on the latest developments in diagnosis, treatment, research, and psychological and social interventions. The event also examines practices that facilitate recovery, empower individuals to regain their social and professional roles, and enhance their quality of life.
