Ambassador Highlights King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance

Brussels:Dr. Mohammed Ali Behzad, the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, participated in a dialogue session concerning the inaugural King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance. The event was organized by the Euro-Gulf Information Centre (EGIC) in Brussels and was themed "Interfaith Dialogue: Building Bridges for Peaceful Coexistence." The award is open to both individuals and institutions globally.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the session attracted notable religious and cultural leaders, as well as representatives from relevant European institutions. Ambassador Behzad emphasized the award as a representation of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision to promote coexistence and tolerance, which are deeply embedded in Bahraini society. He also stressed Bahrain's dedication to fostering interfaith and intercultural dialogue, underscoring the shared values and common interests between Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the European Union in promoting understanding and peaceful coexistence.

The Ambassador provided details about the award, which includes a prize of $1 million, a certificate of recognition, and a medal. The award will be presented at a ceremony sponsored by King Hamad, who serves as the Honorary President of the award. He encouraged European institutions and individuals to submit their nominations by the October 10 deadline.

Ambassador Behzad also praised the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance for its significant contribution to promoting the values of coexistence and tolerance worldwide.
