Manama:MP Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom, representing the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), met with Asuman Erdogan of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye during the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and sharing parliamentary expertise between the two parties. They explored the idea of transforming the APA into the Asian Parliamentary Union to align with international trends and parliamentary goals.
Additionally, they addressed the process of opening nominations for the Secretary General position of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, following the vacancy due to the current Secretary General's term ending.
