GCC Forum Explores Future of Industry and Energy at Made in GCC 2026

Manama:His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, participated in a panel discussion alongside Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, as part of the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. The event was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the panel focused on the future of industry and energy within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), examining the transformations affecting these sectors and their implications for economic growth and competitiveness. Discussions included key economic transformations, the development of the industrial sector, and enhancing GCC economic integration in response to global challenges.

The panel reviewed the resilience of GCC economies, highlighting past developments and the continuity of business and supply chains. Emphasis was placed on cooperation, coordination, and developing an integrated framework to support the security and sustainability of vital sectors.

Further discussions addressed industrial priorities and the importance of advancing economic diversification, infrastructure development, and opening new investment opportunities. The integration of modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and investment in human capital were also underscored as vital for building future economies and enhancing global competitiveness.

The panel stressed the significance of exchanging expertise and strategic coordination to bolster economic and industrial cooperation, support innovation and investment, and position GCC countries as prominent economic, industrial, and technological hubs.
