GCC Security Leaders Meet to Enhance Regional Cooperation

Manama:Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, chaired the seventh meeting of public security directors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Police relayed greetings from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, along with his hopes for the success of the participants in bolstering GCC security collaboration. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan highlighted Bahrain's dedication to supporting joint GCC initiatives, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among member countries.

The meeting addressed the rapid regional developments and the accompanying security challenges. Lt. Gen. Al Hassan underscored the necessity for continuous enhancement of cooperation frameworks, improved preparedness, and the exchange of expertise. These measures aim to boost the efficiency of security agencies in addressing challenges and maintaining the stability of GCC countries.

Discussions included reviewing the progress of joint security projects and implementing decisions related to security actions. The meeting also evaluated outcomes from specialized security committees and initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among GCC security agencies.

Lt. Gen. Al Hassan praised ongoing security collaboration within the GCC and stressed the importance of unified efforts to meet the aspirations of GCC leaders in consolidating regional security. The meeting saw participation from Major-General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa and other senior officials from Bahrain's Ministry of Interior.
