Gudaibiya:Gudaibiya Palace: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the successful organization of the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, held in Malaysia. This 22nd edition of the event was hosted with the support of His Majesty King Hamad and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim of Malaysia. The Cabinet expressed gratitude to the Malaysian government and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for their crucial role in the event's success.
The Cabinet also praised Team Bahrain and various organizations, such as the Formula 1 organizers, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), and the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, for their contributions to the event. Additionally, the opening of Bahrain's Embassy in Kuala Lumpur was welcomed as a step forward in Bahrain-Malaysia relations.
The Cabinet extended congratulations to His Majesty the King for Bahrain's achievements in the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, where the Kingdom ranked first among Arab nations, securing 22 medals, including a historic gold in handball. The efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa were acknowledged for advancing Bahrain’s sports sector.
The Cabinet expressed appreciation for the national workforce at the Ministry of Information and the National Communication Centre amid ongoing Iranian aggression against Bahrain. It condemned the Iran-backed Houthi group's terrorist attacks on Saudi Arabia, particularly the attack on the Taibah Power Distribution Station in Madinah, describing it as a violation of international law and an affront to religious values.
Several memorandums were reviewed during the meeting, including those regarding draft laws for development, the Government Priorities Framework 4.0, and the National Strategy to Combat Trafficking in Persons for 2027-2029. The Cabinet also considered Bahrain's contributions to international organizations and memorandums of understanding with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and France.
Ministerial reports were noted, covering maritime security discussions at the UN, outcomes of Bahrain's participation in various international meetings, and achievements in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026.
