Manama:Coast Guard Commander Colonel Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Ruwai has inaugurated the 20th boat captain course, featuring participation from the Coast Guard, Ministry of Interior, Bahrain Defence Force, and National Guard, alongside representatives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the State of Kuwait.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this 17-week course is part of the qualification program for non-commissioned officers. It is conducted under the annual training plan to enhance participants' efficiency and develop their ability to perform their duties effectively and professionally, thereby contributing to stronger maritime security and safety.
The course curriculum includes theoretical training on collision prevention regulations, chartwork, seamanship, tides, maritime knots and ropes, navigational equipment, marine buoys, and emergencies at sea. It also covers local and international laws related to maritime security. In addition, practical training is provided in marine first aid, ship firefighting, vessel interception and inspection, and practical boat-handling exercises.
