Accra:The Coast Guard conducted a joint maritime inspection campaign in the maritime areas along the Sa'ada Waterfront and Bahrain Bay.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Interior announced the participation of several entities in the campaign, including Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
The campaign's primary objectives were to verify compliance with maritime safety requirements, assess the availability of safety equipment, ensure the proper installation and operation of Automatic Identification System (AIS) devices, and validate boat and captain licenses. Inspections were also carried out on marine transport companies involved in passenger transportation to confirm the validity of their commercial licenses and adherence to relevant regulations.
Additionally, the campaign focused on verifying the status of expatriate workers and identifying any unlicensed workers. This effort aimed to enhance cooperation and coordination among the participating authorities, strengthen joint efforts to monitor maritime activities, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
