Global Coalition Reaffirms Commitment to UN Restrictions on Iran

Manama:United Nations: On the anniversary of the snapback of United Nations restrictions concerning Iran, numerous countries have reiterated their commitment to enforcing these measures. The snapback, which took effect on September 27, 2025, reinstated six UN Security Council resolutions in response to Iran's failure to adhere to its nuclear commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI)-endorsing states, including the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have pledged to continue implementing the obligations laid out in these reinstated resolutions. They emphasize adherence to international law and frameworks, specifically those outlined in the UN Security Council resolutions.

These nations are committed to preventing the supply, sale, or transfer to Iran of items that could aid nuclear proliferation or weapon development. They also aim to uphold restrictions on arms transfers to and from Iran. To support these efforts, the countries have agreed to strengthen domestic legal frameworks and share information swiftly among PSI partners.

In addition, the coalition supports national efforts, such as Operation Economic Outcast, to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. They call on all UN member states to implement the resolutions and urge Iran to comply with its nonproliferation obligations while cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
