KHGC Executive Director Meets with World Council of Churches Leader in Geneva

Geneva:Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Executive Director of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), held a meeting with Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, during her official visit to Geneva, Switzerland.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the two leaders discussed ways to enhance collaboration in areas of shared interest, focusing on interfaith and intercultural dialogue. They aimed to build bridges of trust and understanding among communities and strengthen the role of religious institutions in promoting peace and social cohesion. The discussions also included exploring opportunities for exchanging expertise in developing initiatives and programs relevant to their goals.

Al Doseri emphasized Bahrain's commitment to respecting religious and cultural diversity, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She highlighted the international initiatives led by the Center, including the King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance.

Rev. Prof. Dr. Pillay praised Bahrain and the KHGC for their efforts in fostering dialogue, coexistence, and respect for diversity. He underscored the importance of continued engagement and exploring cooperation opportunities to support peace, mutual understanding, and stronger community ties.
