Madinah:Al Azhar has strongly condemned an attack on an electricity distribution station in Madinah, emphasizing its rejection of such acts which threaten the safety of the city, its residents, and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque. This attack, Al Azhar stated, violates the sanctity of holy sites and their revered status among Muslims.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Azhar highlighted that targeting Madinah provokes the sentiments of Muslims worldwide due to its religious significance as the migration destination of the Prophet Mohammed and the location of the Prophet's Mosque. The institution stressed the importance of protecting the city's status and ensuring its security and safety.
Al Azhar expressed its complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, opposing any threats to the Kingdom's security or territorial integrity. It also prayed for ongoing security, stability, and prosperity for Saudi Arabia and its people.
